Editorial policy

Short answer

Every page goes through fixed steps: draft, fact-check, legal or medical check, approval and publication. We prefer primary and official sources, show the last-checked date on every page and never publish claims we cannot trace to a source.

Sources

We prefer primary sources: legislation, official publications and information from the Dutch government, the Public Prosecution Service, the RIVM and the Trimbos Institute. Journalism is used for context and local developments, always named and dated. Published pages rely only on sources the editors have read in full; the source register shows how each source was checked.

What we never do

  • invent experts, authors or reviews;
  • cite figures, incidents or measures we cannot trace;
  • give individual legal or medical advice;
  • recommend brands, list prices or link to sellers.

Keeping it current

Legal pages are reviewed at least quarterly, health pages at least every six months, and immediately when rules change.

General information, not personal legal or medical advice. In an emergency, call 112.
